International Women's Rights Day – March 8, 2025 Linxens: Concrete Actions to Promote the Role of Women in the Traditionally Male-Dominated Electronics Industry

Levallois-Perret, France – March 7th 2025 - Linxens, a global leader in innovative solutions for the smart card, identity documents, healthcare, and IoT markets, reaffirms its commitment to gender diversity and the role of women. This year, Linxens is highlighting the voices of female leaders within the company, sharing their experiences and vision to inspire the next generation of women in an electronics industry still dominated by men.

Persistent Challenges

For several years now, like the industry as a whole, Linxens has been committed to promoting diversity and professional equality within its teams, including in high-responsibility positions. Globally, women hold around 28% of leadership roles, and this figure drops to less than 20% in the technology sectors.

At Linxens, this progress likely reflects a growing awareness of the value of gender equality. Companies are increasingly recognizing that diversity in leadership drives innovation and performance, and Linxens is part of this change. Whereas five years ago Linxens had no women in leadership positions, today the numbers speak for themselves:

  • Top Executive: 16.67%
  • Executive: 30%
  • Contributor: 39.60%
  • Operational Support: 62.34%
  • Overall Total: 53.21%

Breaking Barriers

Linxens is committed to fostering a culture where gender equality is deeply embedded. This approach involves ensuring that the principles of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) are integrated into all human resources management processes.

Recruiters at Linxens undergo dedicated training to guarantee fair and objective candidate evaluations. This is accompanied by increased awareness and accountability at all levels. Employees also have access to training on best practices to promote an inclusive mindset. Notably, over the past 12 months, around 250 managers have completed training on fair performance and talent evaluation, ensuring assessments free from gender bias.

Linxens also continuously measures the effectiveness of its inclusive efforts. A progress indicator is part of its talent management program, which includes around 640 participants, one-third of whom are women. Following performance evaluations, women represent one-third of the emerging talent pool.

Until now, removing barriers has been seen as a burden that women had to bear alone. But I believe that lasting change happens when men and women stand side by side, advocating for fairness, inclusion and opportunity for all. Accessing leadership positions is often a challenge for a woman, but my first advice would be ‘Don’t think of yourself as a woman in the workplace. Think of yourself as a professional with specific skillsets, who happens to be a woman.’ My career path is not only personal. It is the sum of the people and opportunities that have presented themselves and helped shape my journey. I had mentors, allies, teams, men and women, who have guided, challenged and supported me. Whether you are a woman or a man, you never succeed alone.” says Hanh Guzelian, Chief Financial Officer at Linxens.

My advice is simple: in Science, Tech, and Electronics, your success isn’t determined by whether you're a girl or a boy—it’s all about your passion, determination, and the goals you set for yourself. Focus on establishing clear objectives and invest your energy into learning and growing. With motivation and hard work, your efforts will eventually bear fruit. Embrace your unique perspective and let it be your strength in these dynamic fields.

Le contenu généré par l’IA peut être incorrect.Throughout my 25 years in the technology industry, I have faced challenges related to gender bias, particularly when stakeholders were initially skeptical about a woman excelling in certain areas. Differences in perspectives and a lack of mutual respect have sometimes made collaboration difficult. However, I have learned that these challenges can be overcome by focusing on mutual respect, delivering results, and building positive working relationships. If I could change one thing to accelerate progress, it would be to address unconscious biases that limit potential—not just for women but for all individuals, regardless of gender, race, nationality, or religion. Everyone brings unique strengths and talents, and a truly inclusive workplace values diversity based on skill and capability rather than assumptions. Leadership at all levels plays a crucial role in creating a culture where talent is recognized on merit, enabling organizations to become stronger, more innovative, and better positioned for success.

Description générée automatiquement“For me frameworks are necessary but should be considered as a necessary workaround to counterbalance and disrupt existing bias. One of the most powerful ways to accelerate moving lines is to have initiatives internal to the workplace having sponsors and mentors from both genders: all about exemplarity to open new paths and embody D&I. Answers and solutions can be sometimes just at your fingertips. Don’t hesitate to dig further or ask around you. Connect with peers, with professional networks, with senior people. You could be surprised how happy people are to help and can be supportive. Seek advice and feedback from different perspectives. But build and keep your own point of view, build your own signature because at the end of the it is your career it is your job.

«Linxens has really stepped up in promoting women within its global leadership team. In Thailand, nearly half of the leadership roles from middle management to the top are held by women. Today, we are clearly among those companies that recognize that diverse leadership fosters innovation and performance. However, progress remains too slow, and leadership roles, such as executive positions, tend to remain male-dominated. All of this reflects a broader challenge that we are all striving to address."

Le contenu généré par l’IA peut être incorrect.Women leaders often overcome challenges with adaptability and resilience, perhaps because they have faced many barriers/obstacles in their careers. I would say that what sets women apart in leadership and management is their ability to lead with both firmness and empathy. Women leaders bring fresh perspectives to team management - prioritizing collaboration over hierarchy, empathy over rigidity and long-term impact over short-term wins. By empowering their teams, fostering open communication and leading with integrity, women are not just changing the workplace - they're reshaping the way we think about leadership. While both men and women can be effective leaders, women often bring a more holistic approach, balancing emotional intelligence with strategic thinking.
